Privacy Policy

We collect the minimum needed to run PlotTwist:

• Account data: email address, username, and authentication details from our auth provider.
• Game data: your plots, buildings, listings, messages, check-ins, quests, and activity — the things you create while playing.
• Payment data: processed by our payment provider (PayPal). We store order and capture identifiers and transaction amounts, but never your full card or bank details.
• Usage data: visits and clicks on buildings, device/browser information, and approximate location derived from IP for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

• Operate the game: claims, marketplace, messaging, events, quests, and leaderboards.
• Process payments and prevent fraud.
• Moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service.
• Send transactional emails (receipts, security notices). We don't sell your personal information to advertisers — the ads on PlotTwist are placements owners buy for their own buildings, not third-party tracking ads.

We share data only with service providers who run parts of the platform (hosting, authentication, payments), and only what they need. We never sell your personal information. Public by design: building names, descriptions, plot numbers, and leaderboard stats are visible to everyone. Messages are private between participants and our moderation team.

You can request a copy of your data, corrections, or deletion of your account by opening the help button in the app and filing a support ticket . Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data; anonymized aggregate stats (like city-wide visit counts) may remain. Some records, such as completed transactions, are retained as required for tax and accounting.

PlotTwist is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure. We retain account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal and operational needs.
