Your Building as Your Home Page: Destination Links Done Right

September 14, 2026 ยท 4 min read

Every PlotTwist building has a destination link โ€” one URL that your building points to. When a visitor clicks through, they leave the city and land wherever you sent them. Used well, it's the most powerful thing your plot does.

What to link

Match the building to the link

The buildings that convert visits into clicks are the ones where the building and the destination feel like one thing. A building called 'The Record Shop' linking to your Bandcamp outperforms a generically named tower linking to the same page. Name the building like a sign over a real door.

Keep it fresh

You can change your destination link anytime, free. Treat it like a storefront window: update it when you launch something, when seasons change, when you get bored. Repeat visitors notice โ€” and the guestbook will tell you when they do.

One rule: link somewhere real. Dead links and Rickrolls are funny exactly once, and your click-through rate will never forgive you.
